Maceió is the capital of Alogoas, and its beaches are said to be the best in the whole of Brazil, with many Brazilians returning year after year to enjoy its natural wonders. With a shore line unspoilt by high rise buildings, the views of the crystal clear and calm beaches are truly spectacular.

In order to grow tourism levels, a new international airport was built permitting the establishment of direct flights between Europe and Alogoas and the state governor has recently pledged to invest a further $200 million, which will go towards improvement of services and infrastucture.

In 2005 a brand new convention centre was developed, which led to an increased number of business travellers visiting the city for various international conferences. Revenues derived from the tourism increase has led to positive growth in real incomes.

In terms of property, Maceió has recently started to catch the eye of the international buyer due to its spectacular beauty and competitiveness of prices in comparison with other hotspots in Brazil. Large multi-national developers are now developing in the regoin. With a high occupancy rate and increased interest, Maceió looks like a sound investment.

Tourism

A cosmopolitan city with bustling bars, restaurants and water activities, Maceió is one of Brazil's favourite tourist hotspots. The crystal clear waters and reefs make it a firm favourite with divers. It's a modern and sophisticated city which has retained many of it's traditions.

The aim now is to attract more international tourists to the region, and with the new airport and infrastructure improvements, it is only a matter of time before Maceió becomes one of the world's favourite destinations.
