Why Brazil?

Sun, sea and samba - succumb to the tropical beat and contagious energy that is Brazil!

Whether it's the sound of a football being kicked into the air or the blast of a carnival whistle, Brazil radiates a love of life like no other.

Home to some of the world's most idyllic beaches and tropical rainforests, nowhere captures the essence of South America like Brazil. It is the largest and one of the most beautiful countries within the region.

Brazil is revered for its football prowess and its people are warm and welcoming to newcomers. Its cultural contributions include the music of classical composer Heitor Villa-Lobos and Bossa Nova icon Antonio Carlos Jobim.

A country that was discovered by the Portuguese in AD 1500 and got its name from the rock-hard tree known as Pau Brazil (Brazilwood), which produced valuable red dye and was one of Brazil's first exported commodity. Brazil's mother language is Portuguese, which is spoken with its own unique twist.

Brazil is South America's strongest economy, with the tenth largest Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the world and is currently enjoying one of its most stable political and economic periods in its history - reflected by falling interest and inflation rates. Brazil is not only the largest producer of coffee beans in the world, but also a leading manufacturer of aircrafts and mobile phones. Gold, platinum, petroleum and iron ore are some examples of Brazil's vast natural resources.

Around 96% of Brazil's energy is generated from renewable sources such as hydro-electrical plants and you will find that many of the cars will have 'flexi-engines' allowing them to run various cleaner fuels like LPG.

Many of the world's multinationals such as Microsoft, Marriott and SuperClubs have spotted the potential that Brazil offers and are investing huge sums of money in the country that investment bank Goldman Sachs predicts will be one of the worlds leading economies.
